Following the release of their demo tape in 2024, TRUE GLOOM took a year to hone their debut LP. And what a huge step this record has become! Following the straight-up hardcore of the demo, they completely reworked their sound: A complex web of details unfolds on a simple framework spanning the triangle between Australian-influenced wrecking ball rock ‚n‘ roll, Swedish 90s hardcore, and New Orleans sludge: Percussion elements, keyboards, strings, glockenspiel, trumpet… oops, that sounds pretty much like overcooked nonsense, doesn’t it? But don’t worry: In the end, TRUE GLOOM’s music remains a white-hot lump of hardcore punk—but with a love for classic outlaw rock ‚n‘ roll of the 70s and 80s and the courage to embrace strange ideas. Mullet, beercan, worn-out AC/DC T shirt, guitar solo: The framework. But then, there’s so much more – you just have to listen closely. Content-wise, the new songs move somewhere in the wide zone between extended middle fingers and self-care in an increasingly hostile environment.

Sie besitzen eine ansteckende Energie, die sie auf und abseits der Bühne mit sich tragen und die bei Menschen auf der ganzen Welt Anklang gefunden hat.
